The MacDougalls <3
I've known for a while now this post would be one of the hardest to write, so I've decided to tackle it early rather than procrastinating.
In January, Danielle, Catherine and Cathy graced my office doorstep for a consultation and immediately, I knew I had made three new amazing friends. Danielle and John were the first couple to hire me for a Full Planning package, and they'll always be so special to me because of it!
As the months went on, Cathy (Mother of the Bride), Catherine (sister of the Bride and MOH) and Danielle and I met, laughed, cuddled dogs, crafted, drank wine, and had so much fun! Danielle wanted a fall wedding with lots of gold and navy, since she and John at met at St. FX, and above all else, they wanted FUN! And fun we had!
The morning started off with the girls in the Penthouse at the Holman Grand, with Rebecca Powers and Lindsey Byrne with us for make up and Brittany Bruinooge and Denise Bernard for hair. We had a great morning, brought in lunch from Leohnard's, and just soaked up the beautiful weather and the view!
John and Danielle were wed in a traditional full Catholic ceremony at the outstanding St. Dunstan's Basilica in Charlottetown. Take a look at that first kiss! Photographing with us for the day was Simon Reid, and Lowell Productions was behind his camera on videography! After the ceremony and a quick receiving line, we were off to Lieutenant Governor's house for photos. This is one of my favourite locations in Charlottetown because of its versatility!
Brittany and Rebecca each did such a great job on Danielle's hair and make up! Neither budged all day - such a dream!
After photos were taken care of, we were off to Peake's Quay for the reception. Peake's had closed for the season the weekend prior, so we were able to secure the entire venue! The staff put together an amazing meal of a turkey dinner (of course, for Thanksgiving weekend!), the service was lightning fast, the room transformed amazingly, and all in all it all went off without a hitch.
After dinner began the dance. We kicked things off first with the traditional dances, and before opening it up to the guests, Danielle and her dad surprised everyone with a choreographed mash-up number. It was so much fun! I knew it was happening so it was fun for me to be able to catch everyone else's reactions. Everyone loved it so much, they had an encore performance later on in the evening. Big thanks to Mitch Cormier of The MC Company for DJ'ing for us!
After dancing the evening away, of course we all had to have our fill of Christine's Cake Creations' carrot cupcakes - my ABSOLUTE favourite cupcakes! All in all, it was an amazing, full & fun evening and I'm so grateful to have this family in my life! In her speech, Danielle said that what started out as a professional relationship blossomed into an amazing friendship and I couldn't agree more! What more could you want in a job than bringing you new amazing friends?
Until next time,
